Zo Andriantomanga

Ph.D. Candidate

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Welcome to my website!

I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

I am an empirical macroeconomist interested in inflation, monetary policy, and time series econometrics. Most of my work has focused on the changes in inflation dynamics following the Covid-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and supply chain disruptions.  For example, I study the degree of inflation synchronization across advanced, emerging, and low-income economies.

In 2023, I participated in the American Economic Association's Summer Economics Fellow Program which allowed me to further my dissertation work in residence at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. In 2022, I worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) assessing the impact of supply chain disruptions in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In 2018, prior to my doctoral studies, I was one of three students to receive the Fulbright Scholarship from Madagascar, which paved the way to pursue an advanced degree in the United States. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with an M.A. in Economics.

I received a Master II in Macroeconomics and Public Economics in 2017 and a B.A. in Economics and Management in 2014, both from the Université Catholique de Madagascar
